The fifth and final stage of the second edition of the Adriatica Ionica Race starts from Cormòns with a route that passes through the Friuli Venezia Giulia region and crosses the finish line in Trieste, a city rich in history, full of monuments, buildings and testimonies of various historical periods.

CORMòNS
Cormons is the largest inhabited center of the Collio. Thanks to its position between the hills and the plain and on the border with the Republic of Slovenia, the city boasts a qualified tourist and commercial sector, an extensive network of small and medium-sized industries and modern agriculture, specialized in the cultivation of vines and in the production of various qualities of wines, including the “Wine of Peace”. The microclimate, fits perfectly with the “ponka”, the characteristic terrain of the Collio, ideal for the cultivation of grape vines.
TRIESTE
Trieste is the regional capital, located on the Julian coast, in the heart of the Gulf of Trieste, the city is located on the border with Slovenia. The city’s economy is very varied and ranges from industrial activities to tourism. It enjoys a Mediterranean climate and is famous for the bora, a wind blows very strongly, from October to March and that brings with it ancient legends.
The city has always represented a land rich in charm and poetry, home to many Italian and foreign poets and writers, a place of a thousand contrasts.
Trieste is the main commercial port for coffee beans destined for the famous Illy factory. It is home to several literary cafés that have historically hosted famous writers and philosophers and are now a place for exchanges and chatter.
